How poor memory skills cost Sue a potential job:

Sue was a college graduate looking for her first teaching position. She went to an interview and was introduced to five men who would be participating in her interview. During the interview she was asked about her knowledge of teaching methods and history. Midway through the interview, she was asked what she knew about John Brown. She realized that she knew nothing of John Brown, and apparently she should have. Should she bluff her way through the interview or confess? She said, "I'm sorry. I've never come across that name." "Yes you have", said her interviewer, "he was the third man you were introduced to today."

Sue was shocked and completely lost focus for the rest of the interview. She didn't get the job. If only she would have been able to focus and simply remember the names of a few people.
